When I caught wind of a new coffee shop opening near me, I didn't want to get my hopes up too high. The cafe business seems like a tough one to get established in, with new locations often opening up and shutting back down within a year or two.

Disko seems to be a different story. Within a few months of opening, there already appeared to be a dedicated following online and a loyal customer base in the local community. Arman, the store owner, has achieved an excellent balance of international and local offerings, bringing in print magazines from around the world and sourcing drinks and baked goods from small businesses in the KW region.

The atmosphere of the store is warm and inviting, which I hope comes through in my voxel rendition. The lighting, decor, smells, and staff all work together to create a space that is perfect for visiting with friends or enjoying a solo beverage. Of course, there is only so much that can be translated into a digital rendering. I highly suggest visiting Disko in person for the full experience.
