Not since the first season of Stranger Things back in 2016 has a TV show gripped me like Severance did. I am typically that guy who ends up scrolling his phone while a TV show plays in the background, but occasionally there are exceptions that keep me so engaged I find myself still thinking about them long after I've finished my viewing.

When I think about my favourite TV shows, movies, and video games, a common through-line is the presence of some mysterious corporation or government agency: Hawkins Lab in Stranger Things; Black Mesa and Aperture Science in the Valve universe; The Federal Bureau of Control in the Remedy universe; Lumon Industries in Severance. All of these organizations take part in experimental, ethically gray, and potentially dangerous practices behind a well-polished corporate guise.

These kinds of fictional organizations are often housed in visually striking environments, and I could tell from early in my Severance viewing that the severed floor of Lumon Industries would be a fun piece to try and recreate with voxels.
